3rd Day!
the empty roads of bangkok at 6.30am in the cold cold morning...
at 6.45am, we arrived at Khao Sarn, backpacker's haven.
we were not there cuz we were silly and had nothing better to do.every time i was in bangkok, all i saw were the pseudo floating markets along chao phraya.
this time i wanted to visit the proper authentic floating market 2 hours drive away and boonie so gladly obliged =)
by some stroke of luck we got the 2 front seats next to the driver.
the best view of the morning skies in bangkok from the van.
and so begins the 2 hours ride. we were majorly dozing off when we hit the highway.

purple cab! another gay pride color!arrived at the guest house which was jus along the river where we hopped onto the boat towards the floating market =D

many pple actually lived there and we were given these hats to wear cuz the sun was in our face. not free of course. returned it later. it was kinda getting in my way so i took it off after a while. hehe

it was pretty amazing. i'm so glad we didn't miss the floating market!things i never thought possible to be sold on a boat were actually common. like fried food and satay and chin chow and mango sticky rice?!?!

they seriously are out to squeeze money out of tourist.this lady started off with 500 bahts for a t shirt she was selling.
someone on the boat finally got it for 100 bahts.
this uncle was permanently frowning. -_-
somewhere along the way someone from the bridge was hollering away.apparently he was the director doing some filming along the river!
we figured he was from taiwan and he almost lost his balance and fell into the river.
then we got some pomelos at cheap cheap price and offered the japs around us =)

colorful buses. only in bkk.reminds me of some freedom bus the beatles used to ride in too no???
the floating market was really an experience.
no regrets waking up so early in the morning to make our way there =)
we continued shopping along Khao Sarn Market.
I got a couple of dresses from there for myself and shikai babe.
the guy at the shop remembered me! LOL.
he was like "yes yes i remember you! come come see some more!"
i jus waved and walked on. lol.
doesn't this t shirt remind you of software engineering?
i guess only EEE info comm peeps would know.pple were queueing for banana pancakes, so my dear boonie queued too while i browsed around at more clothes.

banana choco pancakes!wat do u drink when u're thirsty?
coconuts of course!
they're everywhere!
after Khao Sarn, it was Siam Paragon to catch a movie on the Nokia Ultra bla bla screen.but we ended up buying tics for I Am Legend at the Omni Theatre =D
while waiting for the movie to start, we wandered around the basement foodcourt and found Famous Ice Cream!
it was the offspring of Famous Amos!
so i chose the weird looking blue ice cream with famous amos cookie bits =)

boonie had his tom yam noodles, which tasted more like laksa.

altho we received average mixed reviews of I Am Legend, we were so glad we didn't miss it. i tink the huge omni theatre made up for whatever the movie was lacking. i was mostly holding up my shawl over my eyes when the zombies were gonna jump out.interestingly, everyone had to stand up when, what i tink was the national anthem, played in the theatre b4 the movie started.
cool.
i knew there was a clothes line for ferrari and maybe porsche.
but BMW ?!?!
took the train to MBK, one stop away. lol.
walked around for a bit and somehow air conditioned malls do not appeal much to us anymore.
so for about half an hour, we were talking more than shopping when walking around the place.

the food was all extremely good. but i was constipated which lead to not much appetite, and boonie had his noodles b4 the movie. we pretty much wasted kimchi pork slices with tofu. i tried to finish bout 3/4 of my bibimbap.

got sick of it and went over to the next door hotel, Princess Pathumwan Hotel ( i tink that's how it's spelt) and settled for korean food recommended by shawn.
the marinated pork slices for the bbq was PERFECT.
