Day 2!

to our utter annoyance, we found out that breakfast was not included in our package.
oh wells nvm. i got one more meal each day to try local food =)
naturally we checked out 7-11 that was jus next door. hehe
boon's burger was good la! 7-11 actually sold chicken burgers! jus go to the cashier and order one, and the staff would put it together for u :D
i had the safe but boring marble cake with milo.

cabbed to a temple which i can't rmb wat the name was. it housed the largest golden standing buddha statue in south east asia, i tink. hehe
the whole temple seriously had only one statue worth visiting. we spent a grand total of 5 minutes there: got off the cab, wow-ed at the statue, got out.
made our way to nearby chinatown, but not b4 we hor-lan a bit. haha

somewhere between shark's fins and wat arun, we decided to go search for what was recommended in the travel guide: nittiya curry powder. our silly wild goose chase was quite disappointing when we finally found it.

first and last time i tell u. the air was really bad. i wanted to stop breathing.

bangkok is known for its trannys and the liberal gay lifestyle, so they must most definitely have pink cabs rite!
at least this was the theory i read from somewhere la =)

we had to climb these really steep steep steeeeep steps up.

this really funny caucasian dude was like "don't worry it won't bite!"

and i was like "okayyyyy!"
lol come on! of course i know it won't bite i was afraid of falling!
am not very good hiding my fear for heights.

i wanted to get one myself too but it was hard finding my size for the color that i liked.
thought i could be one of those "i'll wear everything to match my boyfriend" kind of girl. didn't happen tho. HAHA.

this was the show house of a future residence that was gonna be built along the river.
it was so gorgeous!
imagine after a hard day at work and u come home to a house that's top to toe glass windows looking over the river, sitting there with your loved ones on a comfy sofa sipping that glass of champagne.
such bliss!

enuf day dreaming.
we alighted and located the restaurant we wanted to dine in.
Thanying. opened by previous royalties. served authentic thai cuisine that was royalty standards. don't play play! lol

even the entrance was like a mystery.
a distance in before we were greeted by the restaurant's doorman with a smile.
the whole ambience and attitude of the staff made me feel so under dressed!
and the food wasn't that expensive either!

look and thou shalt notice, the napkins were folded and kept in the pyramid on the table. HEHE
recommended must-try by magazine: sweet corn fritters.
i say if u don't like corn like me, u're not losing out if u give it a miss. but it was good anyways =)

the damn funky rice that came in a cone shape. i almost laughed when i saw it!

we had the green curry chicken with brinjal and the recommended sea bass cooked thai style.
all i can say is that it was seriously good food and we were very happy that we didn't have to tahan anymore nonsense food =)

dessert was pumpkin with some sort of custard pudding with ice cream.
equally good!

after a really good dinner, the night couldn't go any more wrong.

we hoped into a cab and asked to bring us to Patpong.

uncle asked "sex show?"

and we said "ya ya" cuz i guess we assumed that there was diff sections to patpong, and maybe he was jus gonna drop us near where the tiger shows were.

but noooooooo. he stopped the car at some ulu-fied building. no markets. nothing. jus a door and a couple of pple outside who invited us in to the 'sex show' at 600 bahts per person, that's bout 30SGD.

so we said we were gonna have dinner first and got the hell out of that place.

took a while to locate Patpong night market. it was crappy and a waste of time. all the usual touristy souvenirs and all the fako tiffany rings and bla bla bla.

we got cheated big time that night at some fucking stupid tiger show.

lessons learnt: never let anyone intimidate you. thank you boonie. he saved us from stupidly paying what we were cheated into.

and never go to tiger shows in pubs on upper levels.

i swear i will fucking burn down that place if i had any power to do it.

after that i was pretty unhappy the whole night and it was quite hard to hide.

thanks for tahan-ing me.

i barely slept for a couple of hours. not sure if it was out of angst or jus a different bed.

but the next day was good =)
