The Adventures of Gina & Anna...

the first little adventure we had was on wednesday.
hehe. after dropping my bro off at school for his last paper, i turned back to pick gina up to head off to arab street and haji lane!
parked at seiyu. not very cheap but expected la.
and oh boy we took so much time just to cover two streets of shopping! we weren't sure of what exactly we were spending so much time on... just walking around and laughing and shopping and looking at all the lovely stuff and suddenly time just flies!

anna is in love with mushrooms and gina is in love with flowers and teapots!
i tink haji lane got many treasures. yummy =)

hehe green looks chirpy but not too bright for the eyes :D
our next little adventure was Ann Siang Road and Stamford House of course. HEHEHE

we arranged to meet at 12 at chinatown, but two bus54 came and 851 was still no where in sight. so bo pian, had to board bus54, which mummy called me later on and told me that 54 took much longer to get to chinatown than 851. but thank goodness! i was there at 12.30, and gina got there just 5 mins before so she didn't have to wait long =)

every other person who is like me, hor-lan queen, must find yourself a 'gina gan' in your life. because the 'gina gan' in my life is always getting us to the right place with the right way. so gina brought us to Yum Cha to see if it's crowded, and it wasn't. and we had berry berry nicee dim sum :D yum cha may potentially be my favorite dim sum place. not because the dim sum is nicer or better, good dim sum all taste the same to me. but because yum cha serves 2 char siew bao in a basket, and 3 xiao long baos in a basket. other places serve 3 char siew baos and 6 xiao long baos in a basket. they serve little, makes ordering much easier when no one wants to share with you. cuz almost all the time, gina eats a basket of 3 char siew bao (cuz i dun eat them), and i eat most of the xiao long baos when we order. ok if this is confusing you, means your math poor la. duh.

then it was off to Ann Siang Road!

there's my skinny friend. Ann Siang is actually pretty small, but we spent probably 3-4 hours just hanging around everywhere.

walked into Front Row and checked out some stuff. first floor was the cafe, second floor was the clothes, kinda mature for us la. third floor were the art displays for viewing and sale.

at the entrance, together with another painting that said sth like: they were removed... (or sth), followed by this =>

the room furthest in were paintings by an artist, they all seem to be about love, with some quirky ones like a painting of a fairy with splashes of colors all over, or this picture of a man on a ladder painting the paramount poster over a wonder woman poster. =>

the first room were painting by two artists.one of them likes to draw cartoons of bears, but not the conventional way. the other artists has a very mechanical style of drawing, always draws stuff that shows detailed mechanics and such. one of his works =>

gina doesn't dare mention it, but here it is: it is a drawing of a penis with detailed mechanism shown in this version of a cut up penis. haha. and the lady who chooses these art pieces for display and sale at the shop decided to choose these two artists' works to be displayed in the same room, because there's a sort of contrast in both their works that looks interesting when displayed in the same room. interesting....

after that we sat down for a toast with their four-flavor fruit marmalade. and because the toast was shiok, i got a jar of pink grapefruit marmalade home. eh got award lei dun pray pray.

then basically just walked around abit more...

the shop houses pretty funky looking...

and then i let out a little squeal when i saw... The Patissier!

just a couple of weeks ago, gina and i made a trip down to mohamud sultan just to get a taste of The Patissier cakes after a not so great paper. but it was barely mid noon and the cakes were all sold out. so of course when we saw this at Ann Siang, must whack la :D

left is the strawberry cognac, right is the tiramisu. did i mention yummy, yummy, and very yummy?

so after having eaten dim sum, bread toast, and cakes within a short span of an hour plus, we stopped the eating and started the jalan.
agnes b was closed.
the asylum was pretty cool. nice deco and they sell really funky stuff. gina picked out this polo tee which was so uber nice and chic, but was a whopping 299bucks i tink. sheesh. crazy.
then i can't really rmb which shops we walked into. browsed around at all the stuff.
mostly local designers or imported designer stuff. not cheap lei.
then we finally reached style:nordic. pretty nice deco. the stuff they sell from sweden i suppose.
gosh the ornaments were nice and all, but no where for me to put at home. hehe. but the chair there was so nice! price not nice.

then the urge for the pee came. because miss anna has been drinking water like nobody's business. sore throat plus cough, need water water water. then it's pee pee pee.

and we got to Scarlet Hotel!

there's the gina and there's the anna with the chandelier lights that gina was oooooh and ahhhhhhh-ing over. cheese!

scarlet hotel was just gorgeous beyond gorgeous. pictures are always worth a thousand words. =>

haha. need i say more? even the toilet was posh beyond posh!

haha. ok credits go to gina for collating these pics, and i'm just ripping them off her blog. thanks miss gina gan =)

after scarlet hotel, we walked along the shops at the ground level of scarlet hotel. and they were pretty, wat's new. and walked into this shop "egg3" which has lovely stuff. haha. i liked the toy doggies and all, but seriously no use for them la. gina got a shirt for her friend's bday. now both her friend's pressies are designer stuff. WOW.

then dear gina navigated us to the bus stop to take bus down to city hall to check out stamford house. lol. yeah check out is the word, cuz nothing was within budget for buying. actually even if they were, they weren't stuff i'd wear to school. there was this top from Baylene that was half price! gosh. who can resist half price rite? so i tried on this really cute top. gina tot it was macham pajamas, but i just tot it was quite cute. but no shit! the arm hole too big, and a smaller size wouldn't fit my waist cuz miss-fat cannot turn to miss-skinny in 5 secs.

ok then we jalan jalan here and there, and took a rest at westin stamford, or issit swissotel? dunno which one. the one connected to raffles city. and after the much needed rest as gina's back was breaking, and my legs were wobbly and bloody aching, we had dinner at sushi tei! gina and anna cannot make it. every time see picture of food then must eat :D haha

yeah dinner was nice, but i have no idea why the both of us ate so little then we couldn't stomach any more sushi. walked even more around raffles city and headed home.

walau raffles city had christmas midnight shopping till 12! and everywhere was 20% off regular price items! but nothing caught my attention, and those that did, were too expensive and impractical. rubbish nonsense.

ok anna is tired and sick now. the throat hurts up to the ears, and the cough is better but most likely will disturb the sleep. and there's a bloody mosquitoe flying around the room even after the tons of insecticide that's been sprayed.

sooooo looking forward to later in the afternoon! shikai babe will be joining us! first we will jalan the Lime bazaar at youth park. not that we are young anymore, but where there's a bazaar, there's gina and anna. and sometimes shikai=) then we will head to Odeon Towers for the rooftop bazaar of local brands and such. whoot! and after that will be meeting piggy-baby-tan-boon-boon for dinner and just chill.

i am proud of boon boon. he is chairperson of InnovateIt, a business and innovation competition opened to all tertiary institutes, a project of this big shot organization that i can never remember the name. in other words, it's a huge event and my boon boon is the president of the committee.

MUAHAHAH.
